Education that does not transform your life or life of others is a wasted education-President Paul Kagame.This statement was made by His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda on his visit at University of Rwanda (UR) Huye campus this Sunday, 12th April 2015.HE President Paul Kagame introduced his speech with a message of comfort to the victims of Genocide as Rwanda is commemorating the Genocide against Tutsis. Again in this regard, he urged university students and staff as well as their guests to always commemorate the Genocide against Tutsis to ensure it never happens again.
With regard to the particular message for university students and staff, HE Paul Kagame recommended them to keep in mind that they should their academic skills to transform Rwandans’ lives. “Our universities should be teaching that Rwandans deserve better than being beggars.We must keep asking ourselves how we are using education to transform lives of Rwandans. Education that does not transform your life or life of others is a wasted education”, He emphasized.
During the visit of HE President of Rwanda at University of Rwanda Huye campus, students and staff of this campus were joined by other Higher Learning institutions students, staff as well as the population living around the campus.
