Rumanzi successfully defends his PhD Thesis at Kyushu University- Japan

On January 29th, 2018 Mr Rumanzi Saidi Mbaraka successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled: Genetic studies on lethal necrotic mutants in rice (Oryza Sativa L.). In his study, Mr Rumanzi identified a set of eighteen gamma-irradiated rice mutant lines with lethal necrosis at seedling and vegetative stages of growth. These mutants were induced from two rice cultivars; Taichung 65 (japonica cultivar) and IR24 (indica cultivar).

The University of Rwanda congratulates Dr. Saidi Mbaraka and wishes him lots of success in academic and scholarly endeavors in the future.
