On Wednesday 15th November 2017, the new Guild Council composed of 22 members sworn in front of the General Assembly of University of Rwanda Gikondo Campus for serving students union.
Speaking on the occasion, Amb. Dr Charles Murigande who presided over the function applauded the outgoing committee for well serving the students’ union and accomplishing what they had promised. He also congratulated the incoming committee and appreciated the way elections were successfully conducted. Murigande who is the University Deputy Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement also reminded the incoming committee that being elected is not for enjoying the office and ignore to execute the duties with honesty and diligence. He then pledged support from the University Management to ensure that the newly elected committee achieve on its mandate.

“We will be supportive whenever necessary because the Management is here for serving its students” he noted.
In his remarks, the outgoing Guild President Mr. Safari Bahenda thanked the University staff, outgoing guild council, students and congratulated the new guild council. He urged them to execute their duties with commitment and zeal.
The newly elected Guild President Mr Francis Gakuba emphasized that serving students’ community is a big opportunity to the new council and therefore stated that his team is committed to achieve targeted goals in line with to student’s education and welfare as well.

During the ceremony, individuals, clubs and institutions were awarded certificates of appreciation for good cooperation with the outgoing Guild Council.
