UR Facts and Figures

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Within four sections, Graduates for Academic Year 2014/2015, Students Registered for Academic Year 2015/2016, Distribution of Staff, and Infrastructure, this report provides the principal statistical data for the University of Rwanda.

The total number of graduates is 8,473.

Current enrolment is 30,140 students distributed by College as follows:

5996 students of College of Science and Technology (CST), 4134 Students of College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), 5907 Students of College of Education (CE), 8413 Students of College of Business and Economics (CBE), 2,381 Students of College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), and 3309 Students of College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM). 33% are female and 67% are male.

Three-quarters of students (76%) are in receipt of bursaries from the Government of Rwanda.

The current number of UR staff is about 2,144 with 1,378 Academic staff and 766 Administrative & Support staff. 24% of academic staff are female and 76% are male, and 60% of administrative and support staff are female and 40% are male.

21% of academic staff are PhD holders and 56% are Masters holders; 14% of all academic staff are Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and Professor.
