Medical Students at UR-CMHS offer free NCD screening to staff and students

Students of the school of Medicine and Pharmacy of the University of Rwanda held a health outreach campaign for Non Communicable Diseases (NCD). The event took place at Remera Campus and this followed a similar campaign done at Huye Campus days before. The one day session was held on 17th/11/2017. The screening campaign had different activities including the measurement of body mass index, blood pressure, blood glucose level as well as providing advice to everyone according to the results. All the activities were organized by the Medical Students Association of Rwanda in partnership with Rwanda Biomedical Center. The initiative is a country wide campaign in the fight against Non Communicable Diseases.

Medical Students Association of Rwanda is an umbrella organisation of medical students and is run for and by medical students on a non-profit basis. It puts much awareness effort in reproductive health, maternal health and pre-natal care, HIV/AIDS prevention, and other infectious diseases such as malaria, TB, and other sexually transmitted infections especially among the youth.
