Expressions of Interest (EoIs): Regional Center of Excellence for Biomedical Engineering and eHealth (CEBE).

The Government of Rwanda has received financing from the African Development Fund (African Development Bank Group) to finance the development of a Regional Centre of Excellence in Biomedical Engineering and e-Health (CEBE) based at the University of Rwanda.

The goal of CEBE is to create a critical mass of skilled workforce in biomedical engineering, rehabilitation and mobility sciences and e-health systems which are highly needed to dramatically transform the health service in Rwanda and the region. Specifically, the center will develop postgraduate and professional programs as well as work with industry and international academic and research partners to build capacity to conduct R&D and innovation as well as offer specialized technical services.

To actualize its programs, the Centre will use part of this funding to hire a ‘consulting firm’ to develop a postgraduate and professional training program in its main programs.

The service included under this Expression of Interest (EoI) will cover the following:

1. Develop a Strategic and Implementation plan for a Biomedical Engineering Design and Fabrication Laboratory & Develop a Strategic and Business Plan for CEBE.

2. Develop Curricula and Training Materials for a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering & Develop a Professional Course in Scientific Skills in Rehabilitation and Mobility Sciences.
